Types of DAMs

Media Asset Management (MAM) System - The type of DAM that deals specifically with Images and Video. The MAM systems focus on these assets and have the capabilities for users that help with video editing and photo editing.

Brand Asset Management (BAM) System - This is the type of DAM that focuses on maintaining Brand Management and includes brand workflows, copyrights. The systems are meant to guide external users through the brand request process for licensing purposes.

Document Management (DM) System - This system focuses on document management only

Enterprise Content Management (ECM) System: Systems that link different types of DAM systems together (Keathley, 2014).

Web Content Management (WCMS) System: Systems that store content for web publications and are not designed for long-term storage (El Asaleh, 2021).

Content Management (CMS) System: Systems that are used to store content on the web, are not designed for long-time storage (El Asaleh, 2021).
